two and five...

The truth is I had never woken up to discover these many messages on my hp. I am not a big shot or a celebrity, so to have about 10sms-es when you opened your eyes after a good night sleep, phew...that meant a lot to me. some of the sms-es came from friends whom I haven't heard from for quite some time, a few came from people whom I thought wouldn't know my birthday because I have never told them (my graduate schoolmates) and the rest from close friends and families. I was overwhelmed.

yesterday, a dear friend sent me an SMS wishing me a happy birthday. i was pretty upset. after almost four years 'knowing' each other, i realized that s/he didn't really know me. i'm not blaming anybody for that because i know i'm not a perfect friend as well, but at least if you can't remember the date, jot down lah in your moleskin diary or just utilize the technology and store the date on your handphone. Ha dah tersilap haribulan tu, you better redeem yourself with the biggest and bestest gift you can find on your trip ok, hahaha (just kidding).

morning - kemas rumah a bit. pretended to be this rajin girl. actually dah kena bising hahahaha. padan muka sendiri.

afternoon - went to OU with tinker and Z. had lunch at kenny roger's, had not been there for ages! i think the last time i ate there was with my officemates (well, at least three of them have moved to new places -i.e. it has been very very long lah). i think the price has gone up as well, wah nasib baik it was my day so my parents belanja lah hahaha, if not sure the bill will burn a hole in my pocket. (yesterday we celebrated by having an 'elaborated' lunch (if I may use such description hahaha), today makan lagi ngeh3)

evening - drum class. learned to play 'off beat'. susah woo (because i'm a newbie, need to relax and train my 'muscles' more). my instructor sure pening because i have the tendency to hit the high hat together with the bass too often...camne nak bunyi off beat kalau ko ketuk on beat. huahuahuahu. but my instructor is very cool, he said "don't apologize, don't say sorry, just hit until you got it right". Waaaaaaaaaaaa...I really want a drum set very badly!!! (note: merengek doesn't get you anywhere, save your tears and start saving money!)

earlier this evening, i cooked spaghetti. first time ever. luckily it turned out ok - ok means edible and alhamdulillah it tastes like spaghetti! kang kate masak spaghetti tapi rasa cam tomyam susah plak! abis orang kat secret recipe serbu mintak ramuan rahsia aku hahaha.

overall, i had a great day today, a great birthday.

thank you Mama, Papa, tinker, Z, Ij*a*, abang n kak jules, maktam, pak wan and Atuk (she called me at 8am to wish me, terharu woo a 76 year old grandma still remembers her grandchild's birthday!) for the 'celebration' and gifts. thank you friends for the well wishes, the kind thoughts and prayers.

most importantly, thank you Allah for giving me a wonderful day, blessing me with great families and friends, and granting me another day to breathe the air and enjoy life. All praise be to Allah.
