And today it was a very serious offence

Syafiq, my former student, saw me at the Dept this afternoon when he came to submit his work to Kak D*r*. He looked at me and then back to his lecturer and then to me again. Finally he spoke up,

"Miss, miss nampak GEMUK lah"

(me - speechless, thinking very hard to counter his attack)

"Err..."

"Yelah miss, memang dah GEMUK dari sem lepas"

(adoi!adoi!adoi! i really didn't know how to respond)

"Eleh, rambut awak pun dah tak pacak cam selalu, sekarang dah macam Apon je instead of Apiq"

(wah, damage done. dignity redeemed yiehaa)

Kak D*r* who was entertaining Syafiq's friends when she heard his comment about me let out an audible shriek.

"Aaaaaaayyyyyy, tak adelah GEMUK miss tu"

Well, thank you kak D*r* but the damage has been done on both parties.

I smiled at Syafiq and he laughed.

We both knew nothing should be taken seriously.

Well, I just love being a teacher!

Tapi, tapi, tapi... bila difikirkan semula, adalah sangat tidak sedap didengar apabila orang yang mengenali anda mengatakan anda lebih GEMUK dari 4 bulan yang lepas. Adoi, pedih telinga babe! I'm not angry at Syafiq for telling me that I looked GEMUK. But I realized that I have yet to achieve my goal (2008 resolution). Aiyaya, now I really have to struggle to reduce my GEMUK - ness. Apiq siap la kalau aku ajar ko next sem! Muahahahaha.
