Quickie updates

Had a very boring mid-semester break, didn't study at all, didn't go anywhere that much...stayed at home and became a couch potato. Duh, hate it! I'm so grateful holidays are over! (read: I'm not a workaholic, I just can't stay at home doing nothing and it's my laziness that forced me to do nothing hahaha)

9th feb - went for a hi-tea at Paya Serai, celebrating Papa's 57th birthday. phew...time really flies huh. And in five years time, I'll be 30! Wargh, thinking of it makes me really scared. I'm not afraid of aging, it's just that there are so many things that I have yet to achieve and I am not sure whether there's enough time for everything or not (thank God I've started on drum - bila nak tap dance lak?). Mama would probably say this "take a step a day" and my former lecturer always told me "if you worry to much, you'll end up having a heart attack before 40!" hahaha..so A**a please chill!!

11th feb - went to work happily, well, nobody was at the office (room1) except me...so not so happy lah. the cordinator had tendered her resignation two weeks ago, she got a better offer and she well deserves it. congrats kak N*qu*, gonna miss you very badly though. was offered to replace her, but i don't think i'm prepared and able to carry the extra, 'invisible' load, physically nor mentally.

12th feb - attended an interview as a panel (rep of the dept.), i think i did make the girl slightly suffer during her mock teaching. well, you ought to come prepared and know your 'target group'. you're supposed to teach pre-U students basic English language and not linguistics. but, she ought to be 'pardoned' because she told us that she didn't know she's supposed to teach basic language and not linguistics, plus she has never had teaching experience, jangan buli dia, ajar and help her can lah. (notes: to those who are going to attend interviews, please double triple check the job and its description before you apply, and do some background research before you go for the interview)

13th Feb - had viral flu. temperature 103. Doc said it could be dengue, but since tinker had just received treatment for viral flu 2 days ago, i might be suffering from the same illness. alhamdulillah bukan dengue. was really shivering and couldn't sleep the whole night. at 4.46am i started txt-ing my students (yes it's not an ethical thing to do, but better do it earlier when i was much stronger, worried i might collapsed later), giving out instructions - what to do during class hours, homework etc. after seeing the doc at around 6.20pm (got a jab) and gulping down all the nasty tasting pills, i started to sweat and felt a lot better. got mc for 2 days.

14th Feb - felt better than the day before, but still weak and can't really get up. so sambung tido lah. didn't do anything much, just lie down and laze around. went to modern drama class this evening. helped y*ng* j*a with her essay and she treated me to a hotdog and teh tarik, i've told her there's no need to belanja for such a small favour, but she insisted and said, "I'll get embarrassed if you refuse" - adoi. kelas abis lambat, terpaksa bekejar2 makan and solat and then drove home. i met y*ng j*a's roommate today and to my pleasant surprise, she's doing a postgraduate degree (Master) on Modern Dance! That really is a wow factor, I never knew there is such course in this university, and I would really love to see her perform one of these days. She told me modern dance is anti-ballet, full of expression. Wahhh...now I am all excited to learn how to dance hahaha. before blogging this entry, i received the comments from my lecturer for my first report on augustan literature. i got 6 out of 10, that's not a good score! but his comments are well justified, so i have to agree with the score (lagipun, i didn't really read and understand Hobbes' and Locke's essay hahaha).

Orait, i think it's enough for now...I'll try to post some of the photos taken during our hi-tea later.

And have a perfect Friday --> Attention Muslim guys - you ARE SOOO NOT COOL if you're NOT at the mosque during Friday prayer. tak malu ke makan, main bowling, shopping etc., when you're supposed to pray at the mosque? it's wajib you know. kalau tak malu kat Allah pun, erm bawak2 la malu pada manusia yang dok perati kome tu ye! Tazkirah (peringatan) malam Jumaat hahaha!
