My dad had a meeting in Segamat yesterday and the SevenlordS tagged along. This was a day trip and we thought, yeah why not, let's go 'jalan-jalan'. So we left house at around 0610 and later stopped at Restoran Jejantas Ayer Keroh for a quick breakfast. They had nasi lemak and I had fried kuey tiaw. The food wasn't awesome but it wasn't bad either. However, the price was slightly higher than I expected and to my surprise they didn't even display the price for the food (beverages yes, but not the food) in the 'Breakfast' section. Now, I wonder how and how much did they charge us per nasi lemak?
We continued our journey and exited from the highway through Tangkak. I, the appointed co-pilot, took over the wheel and drove up to Segamat. After sending my dad to the meeting location, we went to Pekan Segamat for a short tour. We stopped at Giant to have a look at what's interesting outside the supermarket itself (the gals at the college would be laughing their heart out...jalan sampai Segamat, tapi Giant jugak destinasi pilihan hati hahahaha). Nothing interesting and plausible there except for the fact that the loo was well maintained and very very clean (what a shocker! hahaha). Tinker 'visited' a mobilephone outlet and was told that they have another branch with a wider range of phones near 'artwell' - well, that's how the sales assisstant pronounced it.
After a quick shop at Guardian beside the supermarket, we went 'hunting' - well, none of us were familiar of the Segamat town so we had to make many many detour and U-turn to find 'artwell'. Finally we stopped at an electric shop beside a bicycle shop to ask for direction. The owner was pretty helpful and drew a map to show Tinker the way to 'artwell'. We followed his direction closely but still we couldn't find 'artwell'. So, we stopped for a second time to ask direction from a passerby and she said,
'terus sampai nampak nirvana, depan situ lah'
so I drove up the road and saw a buddhist temple and then i said loudly,
'hoh, ni la kot nirvana dia...temple ni la kot'
then I turned right and we saw a sign saying 'Pasaraya Nirwana' - ngeh3 malu jek.
We found the handphone shop and found 'artwell' - it's actually Upwell, as 'written' on the building. Hohoho, patut la tak jumpa!!

I can't stand it when restaurants don't display prices.
