Alkisah aku yang pening...

I'm taking three papers this semester, literary theories, the 20th century literature and literature on screen.

Ya Allah, now I know why my lecturers forewarned us about doing our Master. I remember they stressed on the importance of maturity and now I've understood it better. My coursemates think I am too young to do it. But, I guess age does not necessarily reflect you maturity kan.

The maturity that they meant -

1) Able to be independent (undergrads are usually being spoon-fed during lectures) to find your own materials for presentations and research papers.

2) Reliable enough to do endless reading and be punctual in terms of submitting your work and delivering your presentation.

3) Able to handle pressure from your coursemates (especially the seniors who are in their second or third semester) who appeared to be more familiar with "Master" classroom situation (tensen la, derang ni semua tau...lecturer tanye 'korang nak buat ape untuk presentation?' derang semua leh jawab "Saussure" , "Genette", "Structuralism", "Formalism", and so many other alien words..pening aku!!)

4) Able to speak out your mind...if sometimes you think it's kinda "empty", well dude, you are NOT alone.

5) Able to deliver speeches even if sometimes your points sound merapu (yes, the lecturers know, no doubt! So you better prepare yourself! If you're not prepared, just be frank and say "Wo pu ci tao!")

6) Must have faith in yourself and believe that you are able to handle everything eventhough you know nothing. (Exercise your fat brain cells by reading, and reading and reading some more! Yeay!)

7) Able to ask questions, answer questions and question other people's questions???

All right, all right...I know that I've exaggerated some stuff (eh ye ke?)...but really, this is how I feel after 2 weeks attending lectures!!! Adeh, aku pening!!! Now I need to sleep.

Please pray that I'll be able to go through this semester (successfully) in one piece and wish me luck in completing my M.A.

Nite peeps!

p/s: NAO - when will 'this' be over?
