Kickboxing: Certification and Interview

The certification took place on the 25th of August at the Subang studio.

It's some sort of grading test lah minus the belt. I took it with M**a and Ina, and few others from the PJ studio.

First, we had to show our wrapping skills - Cassius Clay was the easiest and my favourite because it's the only style that I had learned before the exam.Boran 1 and 2 which I was forced to learn in less than 5 mins before the test began. I wrapped cincai-ly because I was confused. Kru said never mind, just do what I can and he'll teach me how to wrap Boran 1 and 2 later.

Then we had to do the basic skills - jab, cross, hook, uppercut. Then the combos, everybody had no problem with those movement.

The real test began when we had to do the jab, cross, hook and uppercut on focus pad. If I'm not mistaken we had to do them in more than 200 counts. The suffering began when we were asked to do the knee techniques, lead and rear front kick, and the croco kicks 300 times on focus pad, full power.

Although it was pretty challenging, all of us survived the test and can't wait to learn new techniques in phase 2...

A reporter and a photographer from one of the local tabloids came to do an interview with K**. We didn't know that they wanted to focus on Malay ladies doing kickboxing. When I arrived at the studio, I saw the reporter and the photographer interviewing K**. Then the class began. After a few routines, M** and Li*** were interviewed. Good for them, I thought, as they were the seniors. Then K** introduced M**a and I to the reporter. Alamak, kena interview la plak...Both of us senyum2 kambing and chatted with the reporter.

I have to tell you this, she is damn good at doing her job!!!! But, it's not good for me as I felt as though some of my words had been twisted by this lady. And as a cikgi I tend to explain things to people...and sometimes, those things are unnecessary...worse, sometimes those things could land me into trouble...Argggggggggghhhhhhhh, I can't wait to read what she'd write about me in the article because I just know that she'd definitely add some ajinomoto to make the article sounds and tastes better!

I had been interviewed by one of NST Life&Times reporter once, and YES! she did write things that I didn't say to make the article sounds better, and it had led to a small argument between me and my family...and I hate her for that!

When I told K** about this insecured feelings, he said, "Biasa lah tu, I cannot say no to press because once you say no to them, they'll perhaps write a bad review about you and they won't come again next time". I do understand the circumstances and the consequences. Now I am praying hard that nobody will get offended with what I've said to the reporter in the interview...terlajak perahu boleh undur, terlajak kata, ter-print plak tu, adeh, parah babe!!!

My former student, A***, told me that I love to explain things even when it is not necessary...Am I not a lecturer?? I don't need teacher training to have that skill hehehehehe.

Ya Allah, selamatkanlah aku dari sebarang fitnah dan tohmahan dan juga "ban" dari mana2 pihak ^_^. Ameen...
