I had finally submitted my photoJ assignment on Wednesday. Two weeks of horror, trying to select the best pictures out of the not-so-good ones. Worse, I had to take my own self-portrait, "corporate self-portrait", it was hard to do so because I was not familiar with my dad's canon powershot A80, still not familiar with it now. And I still don't know how to set it to take picture automatically (on its own lah). Captions were quite easy as I'm better with words than pictures, I guess.
I took a picture of my brother and I at my parents' bedroom balcony. The background was white, and the picture was quite nice and subtle (from my non-professional view lah hehe). I don't know how to portray myself in a "corporate" way, but my lecturer told me to portray myself in my best strength. I thought wearing the tkd uniform and perform a fancy kick will do the trick, but I realized that it just won't work. Thus, I dragged my lil bro, the one who always quarrels, wrestles, plays PS2, and forces me to belanja him every other day, and take our pictures together. I don't know what is meant by corporate self-portrait but I do know that family love is my best strength in many ways.
My instructor's comment was, "Alia, you're good at catching emotions, especially with kids. You take good photos of human beings being themselves."
I was flattered, no doubt, but I do know I still suck at taking photos! Need more practice!
p/s: Gosh, I think I'm gonna miss university life more than I've imagined
