Testify against the deceitful

You know...when a friend send you a testimonial at friendster, you're obliged to write something (testimonial) in return. Most of the time, they expect you to do so. Then, you'll start thinking of something sweet about this particular person and type it down. The problem is...there are times when it is kinda hard to write something sweet about a particular person because they aren't sweet enough to enable you to think of their sweet characteristics or deeds!

Back in December last year, a long lost friend added me to her friendster...well, of course I agreed to that, if not I wouldn't be getting a testimonial from her (read: I swear to God, I didn't ask her to do so!) and I would have little to say about her here. Then she sent the testimonial, saying that I'm cute (HELL NO!) and good at taekwon-do (generally YES! - hehehe). Suddenly, today...I felt like doing something good like writing a testimonial in return for friends who write sweet things about me. When I re-read the testi from this long lost friend, I went straight to her page and clicked on 'add a testimonial'.

I sat staring at the screen thinking of what to write about her. I tried really hard to think what was she good at, and what sweet thing about her should I write...after ten minutes, I gave up. In the end I had to create something sweet that doesn't really reflect what I think about her.

" R - ol' friend from school. the last time I saw her, she was this chirpy gal, jumpin' round the block. She rocks!" (or shall I say, she rock-ed)

Well, the very end part of it didn't really come from my 'fond' memory of her. I created it, she 'rock-ed' perhaps because she liked Exist (rock/pop boy band), not that because she really rocks in the sense of "rock" as in language expression i.e. she wasn't the cool type. She was OK, but...I can't get along with her due to certain circumstances. NO...she didn't steal my boyfriend (I didn't have one) nor did she beat me in some sort of 'election' or what ever. Perhaps it was me, probably it was her...who cares? I've changed through the years and I'm sure she has changed as well. Maybe one day we shall meet, and I might like the new R. But, for the time being, I'll keep this image of R during our school years and hope one day when we see each other again, we'll store the new images of each other and perhaps "re-build" our friendship.

Tips of the day:
If s/he adds you at Friendster, that doesn't mean s/he likes you. If s/he writes a testimonial for you saying you're cute, that doesn't mean you are cute, not neccesarily s/he is sincere in her/his praise hehehe. BUT...there's always a possibility that s/he really likes you, and you're really cute and s/he's really sincere. Most important thing is for you to know which is which, to differentiate who is your true friend and who isn't ^__^ and good duck luck!!
