Order...Order!

Rafizal had to do his oral performance last week, and he gave a religious talk (as he claimed earlier) and mentioned that he's from The Order of the Left Hand Path. FYI, I've never heard of such thing, so I thought, it was nothing serious. He went on talking about the non-existent of God. I was pretty upset, but I kept quiet and waited for him to clarify.

"God exists because of man...because man invented the word "God" himself"

"How can that be true? The concept of God lies in your mind, but the existence of God is in the real world. They are two different things!" (had to leap up to defend what I've learned la kan and what I truly believe)

"Without man, God won't be here...because man introduces the word itself"

"Then, where does the knowledge and the consciousness of the existence of a supreme being (beyond human kind) originate from? As Muslims we know that God has long created the universe before he created the first man. On what basis does you argument stand on?"

"Erm...so?"

"Heh? You have to provide the evidence for your arguments..."

"So, what's the next question..."

Ish, kurang ajar betul budak ni, nasib baik aku tak terajang jer kat depan kelas tuh! Josephine, kak Nurul, kak Yan and a few others banged him 'upside down' with questions and he kept on answering "SO? SO?"...haiyoh, so unconvincing. Kak Nurul then asked,

"What's the purpose of your presentation?"

"To make you confuse!"

and I had to say this, "You yourself is one confused man, and you're trying to convince us to join you Order. Oh c'mon we are not interested with your 'doctrine' lah!"

When Raf refused to answer our questions, Prof Haja had to step in. He told Raf that in such spoken discourse, the Q n A session is where the speaker need to answer the audience's questions and not avoiding it. Raf then concluded his performance and walked back to his seat.

You see if a person comes to me and talks about this Order, I won't be as furious. I would listen and respect his view although I disagree with him. And of course, I will argue back. But the problem is, Raf is a person who professes the syahadah, proclaims his belief in the one and only God i.e. Allah, and ticks Islam as his religion in all the forms. He is considered lucky being able to do his minor in Islamic Revealed Knowledge in UIA...but his speech proved that he has turned 180 * (degree lah, cannot find the symbol hehehe). And it was pretty frustrating to see your friend turn into Lucifer (yes, he called him self that!). I do understand that he might argue that he's trying to state his real belief, he doesn't want to be hypocrite...but then again, tak nak jadi hipokrit konon...so why do you wear that kopiah on your head? Why do you have to tick Islam as your religion on the form? There are so many why's left unattended...and his only response was "SO?" and "What's the next question?" - kurrunggek la you dey!

The best part of all was his so-called philosophy "religion is just like the clitoris, it doesn't serve any purposes in the body except to give pleasure"
That is definitely one shitty philosophy...now you tell me why do you work, you play, you study, you eat, you drink, you walk, you shop, so on and so forth. And he claimed that we ourselves are Gods! But then again, same questions apply. Why do you study then? Why do you work then? Why do you need to drive on the congested road, when as a God, you can simply 'push' all the other cars to another side? Why do you need to see a doctor when you're sick? Why do you worry when your handphone is stolen? Why do you let your parents, your loved ones die? Now you tell me...do you truly believe that you are A GOD? Raf, if you want to argue with me, please do so, but make sure that you yourself are armed with sufficient evidences!

I believe in this life, whatever belief we uphold is our own choice...but we also have to remember that God has given us the rational faculty as well as the signs (in revelations and the universe itself) so that we exercise our rights and abilities in understanding and pursuing the true path in life. God has not created us without any purposes...our quest in fulfilling the purposes begins when we realize and understand that our lives are purposeful!

I went googling just now, and found few websites on Order of the Left Hand Path (before writing this post). I was actually surprised to know that this Order is an established 'organization' (if I may use such word), I thought it was something that Raf created out of his own philosophies. The discovery was a scary experience lah!
