It's been a while...

since my last post. Been busy with some assignments and presentations. In fact this coming Friday, I would be presenting a discussion on Merlion and Hibiscus in my world literature class. And of course, being Alia - "a Seven-lord", I would want to give good impression of myself in front of the class thus I have to look at the short stories from a different angle. I'll be discussing the relation between theme and narration in "Mariah" by Che Husna Azhari and another story by Suchen-Christine Lim. Earlier, I thought if I talk about culture it would be easier, but we've discussed too much on culture in class, and Husna, the first presenter would be discussing something on the perspective towards women during the 1960's and 70's. If I talk about culture, we would be pointing to the same issue - it won't turn out so nice and interesting lah. Btw,  Shirley Lim is coming to visit our class on 23rd of August, and will give a talk at the auditorium if I'm not mistaken, if you want to come, send me an email and will give you details on the talk etc. I've read Shirley Lim's "Joss and Gold" - a very interesting story. If you like Hwee Hwee Tan's  "Foreign Bodies", you would enjoy this piece very much.
I have not managed to change to another section for my Arabic class, and I think the lecturer is beginning to like me...I mean, I'm one of the most active student in class of course lah he likes me - hehehe lansi again! The problem is I don't think I'm comfortable enough in his class, it's hard to understand what he's teaching and he would simply ignore us when we tell him we don't understand.
I've installed Dreamweaver on this computer, but due to its poor condition, the programme runs at a very slow pace. I've created a basic page for english language teaching - some exercises on simple past tense, when published, it couldn't upload properly. Btw, does anybody know how to publish website on tripod.com? My computer application lecturer wants us to publish it on tripod, have signed up for it, tapi tak tau macam mana nak jadikan that page as my main page (RTM would ban my blog due to my campor-campor* language :P )
Erm, I went to kungfu class this morning, did some kickboxing training, threw few punches and kicks, played pattern. We're going to have a grading test on this coming Sunday - first time sparring for kungfu grading test (takut jugak!), and on the 8th of August we will be having the inter-club competition. I'm supposed to participate in team pattern and individual hand-form pattern (I think that's what they called it in kungfu lah), I was told about this just now, and I was kinda surprised by the news. Bila nak practice??So late already maa! Sifu Alex don't want to hear excuses , and I don't expect to win because I know kungfu patterns are very much different from taekwon-do, the breathing, the movements, the coordination etc. Being a "malay" girl, wearing tudung some more, (don't get me wrong, I have no problem with wearing one!) it doesn't help much, but I will look at it as a challenge (although "they" accept non-chinese, some trainers are quite racist! I don't blame them though). What I can do is to try my best and hope for the best - aler, the worst thing could ever happen to me is losing to a better opponent in the competition (but hopefully not at the last place)  - as they say the semangat kesukanan is more important, let's do it!
Ok, I think that's it for tonight, I need to sleep early! Take care, good night everybody...
Chow!
