Pedu lake...erk!!

My whole body is aching, Pedu lake is like the Far Far Away land in Shrek 2. From KL, we took about 6 1/2 to 7 hours to reach there. And I have a class to teach this morning and another class late in the afternoon. Aiyak, the cikgu is dying lah, sooo tired from the loooooong journey.

Mom saw a promotion in Maybank MasterCard/Visa dunno what pamphlet on Friday and she decided that we all should go for holiday. Lagipun, it's school holidays. So she asked Ejean to call Mutiara Pedu Lake Golf and Resort on Saturday, and on Sunday morning our journey began. Mothers can do miracles rite :) ! We started off from PJ at 5am. Mom actually planned to leave the house at four, but her great children woke up at 4.15am after kena jerit by Baba hehehe. We stopped few times, for Subuh prayer, breakfast etc. We reached Bertam at around 11am, we went to visit Tok's sister. Baba needed some sleep. After a while, we continued our journey to Pedu lake. We had to drive through a scary road surrounded by thick bushes, saw a few monitor lizards crossing the street and a few cows loitering by the road side. At 2.30pm, we finally reached the resort.
I was excited to see several canoes on the jetty, I thought I could do some canoeing and enjoy the evening sunset. I was wrong. The water level of the lake has dropped by 100 feet within the past 1 1/2 years. The roots of pokok tembusu - Fagraea fragrans -(more or less like the mangrove roots) were everywhere, and it would be dangerous to manouver a canoe through the roots.
We had lunch at the coffee house, was quite ok lah. After that we went to our rooms. So sewey, I almost fall down while climbing up the wooden stairs because the hand rail was shaky. The room was ok, I shared it with Ejean. A TV (Astro "enabled") set, a flask, a kettle, a king-sized bed, a settee, two chairs, a coffee table, a dresser, a walk-in wardrobe, bathroom etc. I spent the entire afternoon watching Disney channel. (Rufus the rat - Kim Possible -is sooo cute).
After having a good buffet dinner, we played some table tennis. Mom and Baba - a very good ping pong "duo". I beat Ejean, straight set. Tinker and Zak played chess, on da run bro played pool. Quality time with family (?). I learned how to play pool that night, Baba was a good teacher, he has all the patience to teach Zak, who seemed not to be able to keep his fingers straight and can barely see the balls on the pool table. Later that night, watched Monster Inc. on Disney.
The next morning, we did some jungle trekking. The path was so steep, I fell down quite a number of times. There was a beautiful waterfall at the end of the track. Went back to our chalets, bathed and watched more Disney programmes. Lunch, and fed myself with Kim Possible, Studio D, more Disney cartoons. Went for a walk late in the afternoon, took some pictures, and illegally fed the rabbits in the bugs bunny village. After dinner, we went for swimming. We've "surveyed" the place, it was dark, nobody was there, so it's our chance to practice some swimming skills. I can't swim actually, still learning! Played in the pool for an hour or so and then went back to the chalet to sleep.
The next morning, packed up our things, had a huge breakfast, and took more pictures of the bunnies. Missed my cats so much!!One of the care taker was feeding the bunnies and he invited me to feed them. More pictures!!
Ok, on the way back, we stopped at Chemor and visited Tok. Makan2 and tido and then continued our journey home. Reached here at 10.40pm.
